Garden State Classical Academy views technology in the classroom as a tool to enhance learning and not a replacement for interpersonal relationships. We commit to using technology effectively without diminishing the faculty leadership crucial to academic achievement. Students learn best from teachers, and to spark wonder and cultivate rich dialog, we must focus on doing that face-to-face. While GSCA recognizes that developing technologies provide greater access to resources, more convenient research tools, and quicker and more efficient communication and collaboration, we know that digital technologies do not naturally translate into a richer education. Students will not have independent access to the internet or YouTube in school, nor will they bring technology (iPhones or Smart Watches) to class. We believe in the power of the teacher-student relationship in learning; children learn with paper, pencils, and real books.
